Senior Designer / Boston

MMB is looking to build out and strengthen our design offering. We need a senior level designer to help lead that initiative. Someone to work across all accounts in elevating the quality of the work. They should be well-versed in typography, design and color theory, identity systems, branding and logos. They should be comfortable in all mediums (digital, print, film, mixed media, etc) and have a strong working sense of design rationale and strategy.

The future MMB will be a design centric, digitally-savvy, forward thinking agency. In this Senior Design role, we need some edge and youthful energy. MMB is an integrated, high-velocity, constantly evolving work environment, that relies heavily on team problem-solving.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of work experience (creative agency, marketing or client-side experience required.)
  • Must provide online examples of design work, produced or not. Will not consider recent graduates.
  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design or related discipline preferred, but not required.

 

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Abode Suite
  • Ability to both multitask and reliably estimate time required to complete design and production tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to design requirement changes or schedules as they become necessary during a given production cycle.
  • Researches, presents and/or makes recommendations on design, or cultural happenings.

Art Director / Boston

MMB is looking to build out and strengthen our creative department. We are looking for a design-savvy Art Director with skill, enthusiasm and eagerness. Someone to work across all mediums on all accounts and help to elevate the quality of work.

We are an integrated, high-velocity, constantly evolving shop, so you should be ready for some team problem-solving and learning on the job when necessary. You should be as comfortable directing the work, as you are in rolling up your sleeves and designing the work yourself. We are looking for a curious mind with an ambitious drive. Someone who is able to solve problems conceptually and consistently deliver great creative work that is innovative and on strategy. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of work experience (creative agency, marketing or client-side experience required.)
  • Must provide online examples of design work, produced or not. Will not consider recent graduates.
  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design or related discipline preferred, but not required.

 

Required Skills:

  • Collaborate with writers to produce a range of high quality work.
  • Proficiency with Abode Suite.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, on time and within budget. 
  • Manage and execute projects from conception to completion. This includes, but is not limited to mastering solo TV production, reviewing proofs and managing photo shoots without Creative Director Supervision.
  • Experience across all mediums - TV, print, digital and non-traditional.
  • Ability to decipher creative briefs and develop concepts that clearly communicate the brand message.
  • Understand the brands they work on and create concepts that they can effectively sell - both internally and with clients. 
  • Deliver presentations to internal senior creative personnel and/or Clients knowledgeably and passionately.
  • Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or clients. 
  • Develop relationships with the client and figure out what makes them tick
  • Look at the bigger picture in an advertising campaign and contribute to the overall success of the brand.

MMB is looking for an experienced Web Developer to join our team. Our team designs, develops and maintains innovate digital solutions that are a mix of web-based user interfaces, middle-tier services, and emerging front-end technologies. 

We are currently looking for an experienced Web Developer to join our team. Our team designs, develops and maintains innovate digital solutions that are a mix of web-based user interfaces, middle-tier services, and emerging front-end technologies. This nimble quality-focused group builds creative digital marketing solutions for our clients using standard toolsets (both Microsoft and open-source-based), social media applications (Facebook, Twitter among others) and content management systems.

This is a position on the MMB digital team, responsible for web architecture decisions, developing and testing web code. This position requires a deep understanding of .NET 3.5+, PHP, SQL, agile development principles, and server-side coding technologies. Strong front-end skills, is also desirable (HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, etc.) as our team members flex between working on front-end and back-end code. Our primary development platform consists of Microsoft and open-source technologies including .NET (C#), PHP, SQL Server, and MySQL.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, prototype, develop, test and support – you are involved in the complete development lifecycle
  • Work with clients, prospects, implementation partners, and colleagues to envision and deliver the required functionality
  • Develop front-end/back-end code for website pages
  • Develop database structures and logic where necessary for website functionality
  • Implement test/bug fixes in a timely manner
  • Move smoothly and quickly between projects with diverse parameters and objectives
  • Work closely with the creative team to understand the function of the web layouts and designs
  • Work with project managers, copywriters, designers, and other web developers to develop and implement projects
  • Prioritize daily workflow and demands on quality, time, and resources
  • Ability to function well in a high-volume, fast-changing work environment and the ability to work on multiple time-critical issues

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience in web development, front and back-end, preferably in a .NET and PHP/open source environment.
  • 3+ years professional experience developing with database products and technologies such as SQL Server or MySQL, stored procedures, triggers and data transformation packages.
  • Must have experience designing web solutions from the ground up as well as taking over existing systems and provide noticeable and significant improvements.
  • A strong understanding of how front end web-related technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive frameworks) effect design and layout.
  • Expertise in front-end coding with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and responsive frameworks such as Bootstrap and/or Foundation.
  • Strong skills in back-end web development using .NET 3.5+ (C# preferred), MVC-based projects, PHP, web services and creating custom controls.
  • Mid to senior level experience in implementing and extending social networking services using OAuth, OpenGraph, etc. for Facebook, Twitter and similar services.
  • Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate with project and program managers.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team in an Agile / Scrum environment
  • Agency experience is strongly preferred.

Director of UX / Boston
Director of UX / Boston

The Director of User Experience is a key leader within the organization, responsible for building, managing, and mentoring information architecture, interaction design, and user research. Working in close collaboration with strategy, creative, and technology teams. This position will contribute high-level architecture and interaction thought leadership, while driving continuous tactical improvements of product craftsmanship and process.

The Director of User Experience will be the UX contact for clients and third-party contractors, provide department guidance in project planning and estimation. The Director of User Experience will find creative ways to articulate the design thinking and logic behind all solutions architecture both internally and in front of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an authoritative style guide and lead a distributed interaction team
  • Deliver a portfolio of consistent user experiences across devices, geographies, and brands
  • Manages Information Architects and User Experience team members
  • Collaborates with project teams to define strategy, site architecture and navigation, map out user flow and experience, and define high-level interaction
  • Defines metrics for assessing success
  • Acts as consumer advocate
  • Leads User Experience group recruitment process and hiring decisions
  • Works with clients to understand their business models and goals and leads the process of defining business requirements, content, and features
  • Participates in and/or leads consulting engagements
  • Leads User Experience portions of projects - from brainstorming and conception to architecture and training.
  • Conducts multiple methods of primary and secondary research including interviews with key stakeholders, observation, surveys, market research, Web analytics, etc.
  • Analyzes customer segments and their information and functional needs in order to create personas
  • Researches and analyzes industry trends and competitive information
  • Collaborates with project teams to define strategy, site architecture and navigation, map out user flow and experience, and define high-level interaction.

 

Qualifications:

  • Passion for technology and design, and the drive to stay on top of industry trends and best practices as exhibited through 10+ years of progressively more responsible experiences, 3+Yrs leading UX teams
  • Persuasive communicator - able to explain complex or intangible concepts to stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience leading user research and brainstorming and discovery sessions
  • Ability to perform interface design critiques and supply objective feedback to designers 
  • Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills 
  • Experience managing, training and mentoring others in UX design methodologies and best practices.

 

Candidates must be able to provide a portfolio or work samples showcasing UX prowess, creativity, and depth of thought coupled with fluency in best practices for Interaction Design, Visual Design and Front End Development.
